| A wedding can be expensive and although the main burden
falls on the
bride's family there are traditional rules about who pays for
what.
The bride's family is responsible for the bride's trousseau and her
going
away clothes, the reception, the flowers to decorate the church, hire
of
cars and taxis, wedding stationery, newspaper announcements, the cake,
and for sending off pieces of wedding cake afterwards.. |
| The bridegroom pays the fees for the actual wedding,
cost of the marriage
schedule, wedding rings, hire of suits for himself and his best man,
flowers
for the bride and her attendants, and button holes for himself, best
man
and any ushers, traditionally the car which will take him and his best
man to the church, and the honeymoon. The groom is also expected
to give a present to each bridesmaid, the best man and ushers. |
| The cost of the bridesmaid's dress can be a
problem. The
usual arrangement is that each bridesmaid pays for her own dress, but
to
avoid extra expense the bridesmaid may choose a style which is useful
afterwards. |
| In the unlikely event of any unforseen circumstances
arising, it may
be prudent to cover the cost of your wedding arrangements with an
Insurance
Company. For example, a deposit which is non-refundable is required
when
booking your Reception. |
